TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

Product: DN50-PN40-RF Axial Check Valve
Document No.: TDS-CV-AX-50-40-RF-2023
Revision: 1.0
Date: [Date]

1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The axial check valve (also known as axial flow check valve) is designed for minimal flow resistance and pulsation reduction. Featuring an axial flow path and spring-assisted closing mechanism, it is suitable for pipeline systems requiring low water hammer, minimal pressure drop, and tight sealing. Suitable for horizontal or vertical installation (flow direction must be observed).

4. PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS

  • Low Flow Resistance: Axial streamlined flow path, lower pressure drop compared to conventional swing or lift check valves.
  • Rapid Closing: Spring-assisted closure minimizes reverse flow and water hammer.
  • Reliable Sealing: Metal hard seal for high temperature/pressure; soft seal option for bubble-tight shut-off.
  • Flexible Installation: Suitable for horizontal or vertical mounting (arrow must point upward or horizontally in flow direction).
  • Easy Maintenance: Most designs allow in-line maintenance without removing from pipeline.

5. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Petrochemical: Pump discharge, compressor pipelines.
  • Power Industry: Feedwater systems, condensate lines.
  • Water Supply: High-pressure pump discharge, network backflow prevention.
  • Industrial Processes: Steam lines, cooling systems.

6. TESTING & CERTIFICATION

Test Item Standard Requirement
Shell Strength Test EN 12266 / API 598 1.5 × PN (60 bar)
Seat Leakage Test EN 12266 / API 598 1.1 × PN (44 bar)
Reverse Flow Seal Test As per customer request Gas or liquid test available
Material Certificate EN 10204 3.1 Optional

7. INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE NOTES

  • Verify valve flow direction arrow matches medium flow direction before installation.
  • Recommended to install a strainer upstream to prevent seal damage from debris.
  • For vertical installation, ensure spring is below the disc (refer to specific design drawing).
  • Periodically check for smooth operation and abnormal vibration/noise.
