4. Main Dimensions (For 30″ Class 600)

Typical dimensions per ASME standards. Note: 30″ Class 600 flanges are very large and heavy. Variations may occur between manufacturers.

Description Dimensions (mm) Dimensions (inches) Remarks
Port Diameter (d) 737 29.0″ Full bore (approx – actual may vary slightly by mfr)
Flange O.D. (D) 1092 43.0″ Per ASME B16.5 30″ Class 600
Bolt Circle (D1) 978 38.5″
Flange Thickness (b) 98.6 3.88″ Significantly thicker for high pressure
No. of Holes – Dia 28 – Φ54 mm 28 – 2.12″ 28 larger bolt holes
Face-to-Face (L) 1397 55.0″ Flanged RF to RF (ASME B16.10 for Class 600)
Center to Top (H1) ~950 ~37.4″ Approx, from stem center to top of valve (larger for higher pressure)
Gearbox Height (H2) ~1300 ~51.2″ Total height with gearbox (approx – heavy-duty gearbox)
Handwheel Dia (Do) ~1200 ~47.2″ Reference (larger for increased torque at 600LB)
Approx Weight (WT) ~5500 kg ~12125 lbs Estimated, cast steel body (significant increase due to pressure)

5. Design Features & Requirements

(Design features remain the same, but structural integrity is even more critical for 600LB)

  1. 3-Piece Bolted Body: The body consists of three parts (Body + 2 End Caps) bolted together with heavy-duty studs. This allows for easy maintenance without removing the entire valve from the pipeline, a major advantage for a large, heavy 30″ 600LB valve.

  2. Trunnion Mounted Ball: The ball is fixed and supported by heavy-duty upper and lower stems/bearings. This design is essential for 30″ Class 600 applications, managing high thrust loads and reducing operating torque.

  3. Double Piston Effect (DPE) Seats: Standard seats provide bidirectional sealing. The valve typically features automatic cavity pressure relief to protect the body in case of thermal expansion.

  4. Emergency Sealant Injection: The valve body is equipped with sealant injection fittings. In case of seat damage at high pressure, sealant can be injected to temporarily restore sealing.

  5. Anti-Static Device: A spring-loaded plunger/ball ensures electrical continuity between the ball, stem, and body.

  6. Secondary Metal Seal: In the event the soft seat is destroyed by fire, the ball will contact the metal seat support, providing a metal-to-metal seal (Fire Safe feature).

Note:

  • This data sheet is based on standard ASME/API specifications for a 30″ Class 600 valve.

  • 30″ Class 600 is a very high-pressure, large-diameter valve. The flange dimensions provided are per ASME B16.5. Please confirm if ASME B16.5 or ASME B16.47 (Series A or B) is required for your project, as large diameter high-pressure flanges sometimes fall under the larger flange standards.

  • The gearbox dimensions, handwheel size, and overall weight are estimates and will vary significantly by manufacturer. A heavy-duty gearbox is mandatory for this pressure class. Certified drawings are essential for installation and lifting planning.
