5. Features

  • Non-Rising Stem (NRS): Stem does not rise during operation – ideal for buried or confined spaces.

8. Operation Details

  • Type of Operation: Square socket for T-wrench.

  • Operation Torque: Designed for manual operation using a standard T-key. Maximum recommended torque: approx. 400 Nm (consult manufacturer for exact value).

  • Direction to Close: Clockwise (standard).

  • Turns to Open: Approximately 45 – 50 turns (full open to full close).


9. Testing

  • Shell Test: 24 bar – No visible leakage.

  • Seat Test: 17.6 bar – Rate A (Zero Leakage / Bubble Tight) for resilient seated valves.

  • Optional Tests: Low-pressure air test, vacuum test.


10. Notes & Selection Tips

  1. Resilient Seated: This valve provides bubble-tight shut-off (zero leakage), unlike metal-seated valves.

  2. Non-Rising Stem: Suitable where space is limited or for buried installations. Note: There is no visual indication of valve position – position must be determined by counting turns or using a position indicator on the operating key.

  3. T-Wrench Operation: Standard supply includes the square socket only. The T-wrench operating key, extension spindles, and floor box must be ordered separately.

  4. Epoxy Coating: Fusion-bonded epoxy coating meets potable water approvals (e.g., WRAS, ACS).

  5. DN450 Note: This is a less common size than DN400 or DN500. Confirm availability and lead time with the manufacturer.

  6. Operating Torque: Due to the large size (DN450), the operating torque is significant. Ensure the T-wrench and operator are adequately sized.
