4. Main Dimensions & Connection Data (Unit: mm)

*Note: Flange dimensions conform to ASME B16.5 (Class 150) or EN 1092-1 (PN16).*

Size (DN) Flange Standard Face to Face (End to End) (L) Flange OD (D) Bolt Circle Dia (K) Number of Bolts Bolt Hole Dia Center to Top Height (H) approx. Handwheel Dia (W) approx.
DN40 ASME B16.5 Class 150 200 mm (Y Pattern typical) 127 mm 98.5 mm 4 16 mm Varies by design Varies by design
DN40 EN 1092-1 PN16 200 mm (Y Pattern typical) 150 mm 110 mm 4 18 mm Varies by design Varies by design

Note: Dimensions above are typical. Y pattern valves have a longer face-to-face dimension compared to straight pattern globe valves. Final dimensions should be based on approved manufacturer drawings.

5. Applicable Design Standards

  • Design & Manufacture: BS 1873 / API 623 / ASME B16.34

  • Face-to-Face Dimensions: ASME B16.10 / EN 558 (Y pattern specific)

  • Flange Dimensions: ASME B16.5 (Class 150) / EN 1092-1 (PN16)

  • Pressure-Temperature Rating: ASME B16.34 / EN 1092-1

  • Inspection & Testing: API 598 / EN 12266

  • Bellows Design: ISO 15761 / BS 6364 (adapted for low-pressure applications)

6. Product Features

  1. Y Pattern (Oblique) Design: The seat and stem are angled at approximately 45–60 degrees to the pipe axis, significantly reducing flow resistance (lower pressure drop) compared to standard globe valves while maintaining good throttling and shut-off capabilities.

  2. Bellows Seal: Fully welded stainless steel bellows provides a hermetic seal, eliminating fugitive emissions and ensuring zero stem leakage. This is critical for steam, thermal oil, and hazardous media applications.

  3. Raised Face Flanged Ends: Standard RF flanges ensure reliable, leak-free connections compatible with ASME or EN piping systems.

  4. PN16 Pressure Rating: Suitable for low to medium pressure applications commonly found in HVAC, steam distribution, and industrial processing.

  5. Hard-Faced Trim (Optional): Stellite hard-facing on seat and disc surfaces provides excellent wear resistance and tight shut-off for demanding services.

  6. Backseat Feature: Allows for packing replacement under pressure (when valve is fully open), enhancing safety and reducing maintenance downtime.

  7. Low Fugitive Emissions: The combination of bellows seal and secondary graphite packing ensures compliance with stringent environmental regulations (ISO 15848-1 optional).

  8. Versatile Material Options: Available in carbon steel (WCB) for general service or stainless steel (CF8/CF8M) for corrosive media.

Remarks:

  • Material Selection: Specify body material based on media:

    • WCB: Water, oil, steam, non-corrosive services

    • CF8 (304): Mildly corrosive services

    • CF8M (316): Highly corrosive services, chlorides, and marine applications

  • Y Pattern Advantage: The angled design minimizes flow turbulence and pressure drop, making it ideal for applications requiring continuous flow with occasional throttling.

  • Bellows Material: For high-temperature steam applications (above 300°C), confirm bellows material suitability (316L is standard; Inconel available for extreme conditions).

  • Flange Standard: Confirm whether ASME B16.5 or EN 1092-1 flanges are required for the specific installation.

  • For specific dimensional data, torque values, and fugitive emission test reports, please refer to the official certified drawings and inspection test plans (ITP) from the manufacturer.
