4500LB Closed Die Forged Globe Valve

Description

Pressure Seal Forged Steel Globe Valve Technical Data Sheet

Product Name: Pressure Seal Forged Steel Globe Valve
Pressure Class: Class 4500LB
Nominal Size: 1/2″ ~ 4″ (DN15 ~ DN100)
Standard Materials: Carbon Steel / Alloy Steel / Stainless Steel

1. Product Overview

This valve utilizes a pressure self-tightening (pressure seal) design, suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, and high-erosion applications. The unique pressure seal structure ensures that the sealing performance increases as the medium pressure inside the bonnet rises. It is primarily installed in power plant boiler systems (drain, blowdown, desuperheating water) and petrochemical pipelines for isolation or shut-off purposes.

4. Design Features

  • Pressure Seal Design: Features a pressure self-tightening seal (Pressure Seal) structure. Sealing is achieved through a wedge-type seal ring between the bonnet and body. As internal pipeline pressure increases, the expansion force on the seal ring also increases, ensuring absolutely reliable sealing performance under extreme high-pressure conditions.

  • Erosion-Resistant Seat: The disc and seat sealing surfaces are typically overlaid with Cobalt-based hardfacing alloy (e.g., Stellite) via plasma transferred arc welding. They are precision ground to offer high wear resistance and scratch resistance, effectively resisting erosion from high-temperature, high-velocity fluids.

  • Stem Treatment: The stem surface undergoes anti-corrosion nitriding treatment or hard chrome plating to enhance surface hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, reducing friction at the packing and preventing external leakage.

  • Body Structure: Constructed from one-piece forging, eliminating casting defects and providing a dense grain structure with high mechanical strength. The body bore is often designed with a Y-pattern or streamlined contour to minimize fluid resistance and prevent vortex erosion.

  • Packing System: Packed with flexible graphite, reinforced internally with nickel wire or stainless steel wire, providing self-lubrication and excellent sealing without scratching the stem.
