5. Features & Design

  • Packing Below Threads: Packing is located below the stem threads to prevent system media from coming into contact with the threads, reducing corrosion and fugitive emissions.

  • Non-Rotating Stem Tip: Prevents galling (scoring) of the seat and stem tip, ensuring leak-tight shut-off and extending cycle life.

  • Live-Loaded Packing: (Optional/Standard on some series) Utilizes a spring (Belleville washer) to maintain constant pressure on the packing, compensating for wear and temperature changes.

  • Panel Mountable: Standard feature on most forged body designs.

  • Safety Backstop: A handle stop prevents over-tightening and potential stem blowout.

6. Applicable Standards & Testing

  • Design Standard: Designed to meet ANSI B16.34 / ASME standards.

  • Inspection: Each valve is factory-tested for bubble-tight leakage at both the seat and the packing.

  • Cleaning: Standard cleaning per ASTM G93 (or equivalent) for instrumentation and oxygen service (Special cleaning SC-11 available).

  • Compliance: NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance available upon request for sour gas service.
