1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This automated valve assembly combines a heavy-duty, trunnion-mounted ball valve in high-temperature ASTM A217 C5 alloy steel with a fully integrated pneumatic actuation system. A double-acting scotch-yoke or rack-and-pinion actuator provides the primary mode of operation, while a direct-mounted manual worm gear override allows local handwheel operation for commissioning, maintenance, or emergency shutdown without removing the actuator.

Designed for continuous high-temperature isolation of superheated steam, thermal oil, and refinery process fluids up to +500 °C (seat) and +550 °C (body rating).


2. SYSTEM KEY FEATURES

  • Complete Engineered Assembly: Valve, extended stem with cooling fins, manual gearbox, mounting bracket, and pneumatic actuator supplied as a single unit and tested.

  • Reliable Automation: Double-acting pneumatic actuator delivers high torque output for on/off or modulating service; fails in last position on loss of air.

  • Safe Manual Override: Declutchable worm gear gearbox allows easy handwheel operation in the event of air supply failure or during setup.

  • High Temperature Integrity: Stellite® hardfaced metal seats and live-loaded pure graphite stem packing withstand severe thermal cycling.

  • Trunnion Design: Ball is mechanically fixed; line pressure thrust is absorbed by bearings, allowing low operating torque and prolonged seat life.

  • Extended Stem & Cooling Fins: Protect the gearbox and actuator seals from radiated process heat.

  • Optional Controls: Full range of limit switch boxes, solenoid valves, and positioners can be factory mounted.
