6. Structural Features & Working Principle (API 599 / API 6D)

  • API 599 Compliance: Designed and manufactured in full compliance with API 599 for metal plug valves, ensuring reliability and interchangeability.

  • API 6D Compliance: Meets API 6D requirements for pipeline valves, including full-bore design, anti-static device (optional), and fire-safe design (optional).

  • Blowout-Proof Stem: Stem is retained within the body to prevent accidental ejection under pressure.

  • Anti-Static Device (Optional): Springs between plug and stem/body ensure electrical continuity, preventing static charge buildup (per API 6D).

  • Fire-Safe Design (Optional): In the event of a fire, secondary metal-to-metal sealing activates, meeting API 607 / API 6FA requirements.

  • Operation: Smooth 90° rotation from open to close. Gear operator recommended for larger sizes or higher pressures.

9. Installation, Operation & Maintenance Instructions (IOM)

  • Installation: Ensure pipeline is clean. Valve can be installed in any orientation. Use proper gaskets and bolt torque.

  • Operation: Rotate wrench 90° (parallel = Open, perpendicular = Closed). Do not use extensions or hammers on wrench.

  • Maintenance: Periodically check packing for leakage. For lubricated type, inject sealant as recommended. For seal replacement, follow OEM procedures.
