2. Product Description

This product is a Flanged Double Block and Bleed (DBB) Sampling Ball Valve designed for 2″ Class 1500 service, with all wetted parts made of 316 Stainless Steel. The valve features a dual-ball tandem isolation structure, integrating two isolation ball valves into a single body, combined with a cavity bleed valve to provide the highest level of double isolation and safe depressurization.

The inlet is equipped with an ASME B16.5 Class 1500 RF flange. The outlet integrates a sampling probe (extended sampling tube) with multiple equidistant sampling holes, enabling representative multi-point sampling within the pipeline. The valve body is equipped with dual operating handles, controlling the primary and secondary isolation ball valves respectively. The bleed valve assembly is located between the two ball valves, utilizing a needle-type globe valve for cavity depressurization, draining, or purging of the sampling line.

The design complies with API 6D, ASME B16.34, and ASME B16.5 standards, making it suitable for safe sampling and double isolation applications in petroleum, chemical, and natural gas industrial processes.

4. Structural Features

  • Double Block and Bleed (DBB) Structure: Two independent ball valves in series within a single body, forming a double isolation barrier. The intermediate cavity is equipped with a bleed port, meeting the highest safety isolation requirements.

  • Anti-Blowout Stem: The stem is designed with an anti-blowout structure to ensure it will not be ejected under extreme pressure conditions.

  • Anti-Static Device: Anti-static grounding is provided between the ball, stem, and body to eliminate static electricity buildup risks.

  • Dual Operating Handles: Each ball valve is equipped with an independent handle for 90° quick opening and closing.

  • Integrated Sampling Probe: The outlet is equipped with a multi-hole sampling probe, allowing simultaneous sampling at different depths within the pipeline for improved sample representativeness.

  • Needle Bleed Valve: The intermediate cavity is equipped with a 316 SS needle-type globe valve for cavity depressurization, draining, and purging of the sampling line.

  • Fire-Safe Design: Complies with API 607 / API 6FA fire test requirements (optional).

  • Low Fugitive Emissions: Can meet ISO 15848 low fugitive emission requirements (optional).

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Pre-Sampling Preparation: Confirm the valve is in the closed position and check that the bleed valve is closed.

  2. Open Primary Ball Valve: Rotate the first handle 90° to the open position, allowing media to enter the intermediate cavity.

  3. Open Secondary Ball Valve: Rotate the second handle 90° to the open position, allowing media to flow through the sampling probe.

  4. Sampling Operation: After the media flows steadily, collect the sample at the probe outlet using a sampling container.

  5. Post-Sampling Closing: Close the secondary ball valve first, then close the primary ball valve.

  6. Intermediate Cavity Bleed: After sampling, open the needle bleed valve to drain any residual media in the intermediate cavity, ensuring double isolation safety.

  7. Reset: Close the bleed valve and confirm all handles are in the closed position.

6. Safety & Health

Item Description
