1. General Description

2. Application

  • Suitable Media: Strong acids, alkalis, organic solvents, aqua regia, halogens, corrosive gases/liquids – virtually all corrosive media (except molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine)

  • Typical Industries: Chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, chlor-alkali, wastewater treatment, semiconductor, hazardous fluid handling

  • Dead-End Service: Lugged design allows the valve to be used at line ends (e.g., connecting to a blind flange or equipment inlet) without support from the opposite flange

  • Single-Side Dismantling: Allows maintenance on one side of the valve without disturbing the opposite piping

7. Testing & Inspection

8. Operation Options

  • Lever Operation: Standard for DN50-DN150, with infinite positioning and locking device

  • Gearbox Operation: Standard for DN200 and above, self-locking, handwheel for easy operation

  • Pneumatic Actuator: Double-acting or spring-return; can be fitted with solenoid valves, limit switches, positioners

  • Electric Actuator: On-off or modulating type with position feedback


9. Selection Notes

  1. Lining Material Selection:

    • PTFE (F4): -40°C to +180°C, suitable for most strong corrosive media

    • FEP (F46): -40°C to +150°C, good processability, smooth surface

    • PFA: -40°C to +200°C, best temperature resistance, suitable for high-purity applications

  2. Lugged Installation:

    • Suitable for dead-end service, but confirm bolt length and strength

    • Valve can hold pressure on one side without the opposite flange (verify pressure rating)

    • For optimal sealing, it is recommended to tighten both flanges simultaneously during installation

  3. One-Piece Body Advantage:

    • Eliminates split-body flange bolts – avoids risk of bolt corrosion and leakage in high-temperature or corrosive environments

    • Better body rigidity – suitable for higher pressures and more demanding applications

  4. Flange Gaskets: Use PTFE or other corrosion-resistant gaskets. Ensure disc is in closed position during installation.

  5. Do Not Over-Torque: Do not continue forcing the operator after the valve is fully closed, as this may damage the PTFE seat.

  6. Static Electricity: For flammable media, select a valve with an anti-static device (stem-disc-body conductive path per ISO 5211).
