3. Main Materials (Typical)
| Component | Standard Material | Optional Materials |
|---|---|---|
| Body | Brass (HPb59-1 / C37700 / CW614N) | Bronze |
| Bonnet | Brass (matching body) | Bronze |

4. Outline Dimensions & Weight (Typical values – may vary by manufacturer)
| Dimension Parameter | Value (Typical non-rising stem brass gate valve) |
|---|---|
| Valve Length (end-to-end) L | Approx. 55 – 65 mm |
| Thread Size (BSPT) | 1/2″ (DN15) female taper |
| Handwheel Diameter | Approx. 50 – 60 mm |
| Overall Height (closed position) H | Approx. 80 – 100 mm |
| Valve Weight | Approx. 0.3 – 0.4 kg |
⚠ Dimensions above are typical references. Final dimensions may vary by manufacturer; confirm with actual product or drawing.
5. Pressure-Temperature Rating (Brass body)
| Temperature (°C) | Max. Working Pressure (bar) | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| -10 ~ 50 | 16 (PN16 rating) | Ambient |
| 100 | 10 | |
| 120 | 7 | |
| 150 | 4 |
Note: Brass valves are generally suitable for temperatures ≤150°C. Above 120°C, pressure must be significantly derated. PTFE packing has a maximum service temperature of approx. 150°C.
6. Performance Data
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Pressure Rating | PN16 (16 bar @ 50°C) |
| Shell Test Pressure (water) | 24 bar |
| Seat Test Pressure (water) | 17.6 bar |
| Air Seat Test Pressure | 6 bar |
| Allowable Differential Pressure | Full rated pressure (gate valves not recommended for throttling) |
| Leakage Rate | Metal seated: Minimal leakage (API 598 allowable) PTFE coated seat: Zero leakage |
| Temperature Range | -10°C ~ +120°C (standard) |
| Suitable Media | Water, oil, gas, non-corrosive media |
| Valve Type | Non-rising stem wedge gate valve (normally uni-directional) |
7. Key Features
-
Brass body – Good corrosion resistance and machinability; suitable for water and low pressure steam
-
BSPT taper thread – Reliable sealing, easy installation; no need for additional sealing tape
-
Non-rising stem design – Compact construction, ideal for space‑limited installations
-
Full bore or reduced bore – Typically reduced bore (slightly lower flow capacity than pipe size)
-
Low operating torque – Light handwheel operation
-
Cost effective – Widely used in construction, HVAC, water supply and drainage
8. Installation & Operation Instructions
-
Thread connection – Apply PTFE tape or thread sealant to BSPT male threads. Screw in clockwise. Do not over‑tighten to avoid cracking the valve body.
-
Flow direction – Gate valves generally have no flow direction restriction, but it is recommended to install with the arrow (if marked) or horizontally.
-
Operation – Turn handwheel clockwise to close, counter‑clockwise to open. Valve should be fully open or fully closed; not suitable for throttling (may erode sealing surfaces).
-
Maintenance – If stem leakage occurs, carefully tighten the packing gland nut. If leakage persists, replace the packing.
