5. Pressure-Temperature Rating (Brass body)

Temperature (°C) Max. Working Pressure (bar) Remarks
-10 ~ 50 16 (PN16 rating) Ambient
100 10
120 7
150 4

Note: Brass globe valves are generally suitable for temperatures ≤150°C. Above 120°C, pressure must be derated. PTFE packing maximum service temperature is approx. 150°C.

6. Performance Data

Parameter Value
Pressure Rating PN16 (16 bar @ 50°C)
Shell Test Pressure (water) 24 bar
Seat Test Pressure (water) 17.6 bar
Air Seat Test Pressure 6 bar
Allowable Differential Pressure Full rated pressure (globe valves suitable for throttling)
Leakage Rate Metal seated: minimal leakage (API 598 allowable)
PTFE seated: zero leakage
Temperature Range (standard) -10°C ~ +120°C (PTFE packing)
Suitable Media Water, oil, gas, non-corrosive and mildly corrosive media
Flow Characteristic Linear (for throttling)
Connection Type BSPT female taper thread (also available with BSPP if required)
Stem Type Rising stem (outside screw and yoke – OS&Y)

7. Key Features

  • Globe valve design – Suitable for both shut-off and throttling service; good flow regulation characteristics

  • Brass body – Good corrosion resistance, machinability, and economy

  • BSPT taper threads – Reliable leak-tight seal without additional sealants (PTFE tape recommended for installation)

  • Rising stem – Visual indication of valve position (stem rises when opening)

  • Replaceable packing – Easy maintenance

  • Integral seat – Leak-proof body-to-seat construction

  • Bi-directional sealing (recommended installation with pressure under the disc)

  • Wide size range – From 1/4″ to 4″ for various system requirements

8. Installation & Operation Instructions

  1. Thread connection – Apply PTFE tape or thread sealant to the male BSPT thread. Screw the valve onto the pipe. Do not over‑tighten to avoid body cracking.

  2. Flow direction – Globe valves are directional. The arrow cast on the body indicates the recommended flow direction (pressure should be under the disc for better shut-off and packing life).

  3. Operation – Turn handwheel clockwise to close, counter‑clockwise to open. Globe valves may be used for throttling (partially open) without significant damage.

  4. Maintenance – If stem leakage occurs, tighten the packing gland nut. For disc or seat leakage, disassemble and replace the disc or grind the seat.
