Square Socket Operation T-wrench operation via square socket – allows operation from above ground using extension spindles; no handwheel required
Solid Wedge Design Robust construction for positive shut-off and high durability
Flanged Connections Easy installation and removal from pipeline
In-Line Repairable Packing can be replaced under pressure when valve is fully closed

8. Testing (Per API 598)

Test Test Pressure (Class 125/150) Acceptance Criteria
Shell Hydrostatic Test 400 PSI (27.6 bar) No visible leakage through pressure boundary
Seat Leakage Test 300 PSI (20.7 bar) Allowable leakage per API 598 for metal-seated valves
Backseat Test 300 PSI (20.7 bar) No visible leakage when valve fully open

9. Installation & Operation Notes

  1. Non-Rising Stem: The stem does NOT rise during operation. Valve position (open/closed) cannot be visually determined from stem position. Use position indicators on extension spindle or count turns to determine position .

  2. T-Wrench Operation: Standard supply includes the square socket (operating nut) only. The T-wrench operating key, extension spindles, and floor box must be ordered separately .

  3. Metal Seated: This valve has bronze-to-bronze seating and allows a small amount of leakage per API 598 (not bubble-tight like resilient seated valves) .

  4. Flange Gaskets: Use full-face gaskets or ring gaskets as appropriate for ASME B16.1 Class 125 flanges.

  5. Flow Direction: Suitable for bi-directional flow.

  6. Buried Service: For buried installations, specify extension spindle length and floor box with operating square.

10. Options & Accessories

  • Stem Material: Stainless Steel 304/316 or Brass

  • Coating: Fusion bonded epoxy (blue RAL 5005 or black) per AWWA C550

  • Extension Spindles: For buried service (specify required length)

  • Floor Boxes: With cover and operating key

  • Position Indicators: For extension spindles to show valve position

  • Gear Operation: For larger sizes (above 12″) where operating torque is high
